    1. Nice!!! Good luck--I hope you can make it to France! :D It's totally worth the trip just to eat everything.

  2. Ha! If you would have told me you were going to Paris, I would have also said you were going to fall in love, but not with a person in particular, but with France itself. Every time I travel, I fall in love. I imagine an entire life there. It's the greatest feeling...

    1. Thanks, Jade! Haha, I do the same thing. It doesn't really matter where--I start thinking that I could be happy with a day job in Hawaii or as a reclusive writer on the Oregon coast or a starving artist in Brooklyn...

  4. Haha I am a french who spent the last year in the US, I remember how excited I was about the whole thing and how people reacted the exact same way... Well at the end I felt in love with an american -who also looove french food- BUT STILL.
Enjoy France, living abroad is the best :)

    1. LOL, really?? I wouldn't think that going to the US would inspire that reaction. Happy to hear you enjoyed living abroad, and experienced love in the US. :P
      Bises!

  5. Haha! :D
As Frenchy I don't really realize that. I maybe need to leave a year or two to realize how much I love France. :)

    1. Haha, I think you would miss it if you left! French bread, especially, is phenomenal -- it's really impossible to find anything of the same quality in the US.
I know that leaving Portland has made me appreciate things I didn't know were special about it (cheap and amazing beer, authentic Mexican food, green space, thrift shops, rerun theaters).

  8. I just discovered your blog, but I already like it and as a french person it always makes me smile to see how foreigners see our country ;)
I plan to travel to northern Europe and USA one day too !
As a US series addict, I must ask: does Portland have as much forests as in the tv show "Grimm" ? ^^ (yes I have lame references for your part of the world, the other one would be the "Oregon Scientific" launch motto from my sister's old kid laptop haha)

    1. Thank you! I hope I can entertain you and also be fair with my observations about France. :P
Ahh, Grimm! Yes, it's really filmed in Portland, and from what I've seen it's an accurate representation. That first episode, where the girl is mauled in the woods? That forest is right next to downtown--I used to live on the edge of it and go hiking/running there almost every day! Haha, so that episode really freaked me out!!
