...Guys, proceed with caution. I know you are adults and you can choose for yourself what you do and do not want to expose yourselves to, but...René la Taupe cannot be unseen. This is the 2 Girls 1 Cup of joke songs. It will haunt you.
Anyway, for the brave, here is a LINK.
Nico says it was impossible to escape this song for about 6 months. People set it as their cell ringtone, and it played on the radio, in the grocery store, when you went shopping... x_x I realize that I may be spreading the infection by even making this comic, but...ugh. It's too horrible not to share.
"T'es siiiiiii miiiignon, mignon, mignon, mignon gnon gnon! "
ReplyDeleteHaha I don't know if it's the same but when I lived in France René la Taupe sang this one, and it was awfull.
I'm not so glad living in México, but I don't miss this awfull mole, at all. But I hope you enjoy your stay in France :)
Ha ha ha! Thanks, Laura. Yes, I heard the "mignon" song, barf.
DeleteIt's over René la taupe... But lot of people in France hated this song (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rv_O3BWT_gU)
DeleteEven Hitler faced his toughest opponent here .... :'(

Hahaha so true ! René la taupe is just horrible !
ReplyDeleteI just discover your blog and it's so funny ! I'm from Annecy (thx for the great pix of my city) and I live in Grenoble (if you love French food, we have a nice plants alcohol called Chartreuse and some stuffs with nuts here)...If you want to go there, we have a sofa with my boyfriend for nice people we meet, and a big fluffy cat for hugs !
ps : sorry for my English, so bad !
Wow, thank you Raphaëlle! :D I have heard that Grenoble is lovely, and I will definitely try to go this year before I leave France. It's really nice of you to offer a couch!!
DeleteHaha, I just had Chartreuse for the first time at Bulles de Neige. It's so strong!
True it's a shame this awful song has been so successful.
ReplyDeleteBut hopefully Nico was wrong ! :) I heard a lot of people talking about it but i never heard it once !
I suppose it mostly depends on how much you watch Tv and listen radio and which channels you choose (a good radio recommendation to my opinion : try FIP... only music and no avertissement at all !)
Thanks for the tip, Zongo! ^_^
DeleteHi ! I'm a French student and I just discovered your blog. Most of your reactions about France are... sadly accurate ^^
ReplyDeleteI think you get the little habits and clichés very well !
BUT I don't know how René made it to the #1 ranking, because I can tell you that anyone around me hated him ! I think people only bought the song to bother their relatives !
Thanks, Kyrio!
DeleteHahaha! I really couldn't imagine why people were buying René, but I guess that makes sense. :P
